USHERing in the BIEBER deception!

The topic of this blog has been laying heavy on my heart for quite a while. I have put much thought and research before posting this. In no way do I want to come across as being more spiritual/better than anyone! I now have a ten year old daughter, and this issue has just began to affect and make it's move into our family during the past year. So here it is, my blog today is on the cultural influence of our young girls and boys!

I recently read, the media company Klout reported that "Justin Bieber is more influential than Barrack Obama and the Dali Lama."

Lately I have been hearing much about this pop singer Justin Bieber. He was born in Canada in 1994 (age 17). Justin is a singer,songwriter and actor. He was discovered by Scooter Braun (JB's Manager) in 2008. Braun came across Justin's YouTube videos. Arrangements were made to meet with Usher and now Justin has signed on with Raymond Braun Media Group (a joint business between Braun & Usher). He is a talented musician playing Guitar,piano,drums,percussion and trumpet. Justin's genre of music is Pop/RB. He has been active since 2009 - present. Justin Bieber has been awarded numerous awards during the past couple of years.

I have not paid much attention to Justin Bieber or his music, until my daughter recently mentioned some of her friends listened to him and that he was a christian. To my surprise this was the first I heard about JB being a christian. After hearing this I begin to dig deeper into this statement. I wanted to see how this JB represented himself through his music and his life.  After all he is a christian! Typically as a family we do not watch or listen to most mainstream sitcoms or pop music. I did a little research and below is what I found.

Like I said above Justin Bieber has been signed on by Usher. We all know Usher likes women and sex. His song "Pro Lover" talks about no commitment. I have listed some of his lyrics. "It's not about fidelity", "lovin me is a no no!" "I'm better at touch and go". Basically to sum up this song, she is just another notch in his belt. He claims he wants to add her name to his wall of fame.

Usher has become a mentor to Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber has quoted that "he is like a big brother to me".

I  thought I ought to look into some of his songs and hear what kind of music he sings. For the most part his songs are about girls and life. Harmless you might say. Here is my opinion on a couple of songs I found.

The first one is called Runaway Love. This song was recorded when Bieber was only 15 years old. Here are some of the lyrics. "I need to find her before another man does", "I'd give it all up for us", "I won't stop before I find my runaway love"

 

The second song is called Kiss and Tell. The song Kiss and Tell was a bonus feature on the album My World 2.0. Here are some of the lyrics. "your lips are calling me like they wanna do something", "Just keep it quiet and when we do it keep it just between us", Don't tell your homies, your momma, you keep this private."

Remember Justin Bieber was only 15 singing these lyrics. On My World 2.0 album  Ludacrist and Sean Kingston was featured. Parental Warnings are slapped on many if not all of Ludacrist albums. It's obvious that the idea here is to sell records. These Artists do not have young fans in mind.

Finally the last song I have to share with you is the song titled First Dance. This song is also featured on the album My World also featuring Usher. Here are some of it's lyrics. "We are all alone", "I'll be gentle", "I know we got to do it slowly", "No chaperone's, no telling mom and dad"!

I'm sorry but I'm getting more out of this than dancing! I believe there is a more deeper meaning behind these words than dancing. Why are we hiding from mom and dad if it's only a dance?

 

Scooter Braun, Biebers manager and one of the producers to Never say Never quotes "As a christian he's someone to look up to."

This is where I have a problem! Many young girls are placing Justin Bieber as an idol in their life and I'm finding that many of these girls claim to be christian.  In JB's Biography he claims to be a christian.

Let me refresh the meaning of Christian for those who might of forgot......Christian-A person who believes in Jesus Christ. A person who exemplifies in his or her life the teaching of Christ. To be Christlike.

Now I can not judge JB's heart only God can do that. All I can do is go by God's word and here is what I found.

Timothy 5:2  The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.

This talks about respect must be paid to younger women treating them as sisters with absolute purity. Not treating young ladies as property or a sex object.

1 Timothy 5:22  Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

Keeping yourself pure not falling into diverse temptations.

1 Corinthians 7:1

Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

I can't help but think of the video "Baby" where he draws a young lady into his body closely trying to win her over.

The choices we make in our youth will impact the rest of our lives.

I can not help but think as Usher, Sean Kingston, and Ludacrist mentoring JB their is no telling where he is gong next!

We have seen this in Brittany Spears, Justin Timberlake and  Mylie Cyrus lives. Girls fell for Hannah Montana. Hannah Montana merchandise was everywhere! She seemed so innocent! Today she has a disturbing video called "Can't be Tamed" Honestly It is trash! Is this what we want our young ladies idolizing and then regretting it a couple years down the road.

When we as Christians try to put "God" into secular thinking we are compromising our beliefs.The world is enticing us to go against the biblical way of thinking.

Evil communication  corrupts good manners. I myself would not want to allow my kids around something that will corrupt what I am striving toward!

My son has been memorizing this passage from the book of Psalms and I think it is a well put closing!

Psalms 119:9-16

Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.

 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.

 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.

 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
